Center-Based Services
Our inclusive center-based program serves children with special needs as well as typically developing children in a warm, family-friendly preschool setting. We support each child’s individual needs in a blended classroom where they learn and play with children with diverse needs and abilities.
Center-based services operate similarly to a traditional pre-school with socialization activities, outdoor play, healthy snacks and lunches, community activities, and typically developing peer role models, along with occupational, physical, and speech therapy. Our licensed centers also maintain a low 1:3 classroom ratio of staff to children, which is critically important when working with children with special needs.
Children are usually enrolled for either three or five days per week for three-hour sessions each day. The program offers exceptional early education from warm, caring and family-friendly staff, with cheerful, inviting classrooms, physical therapy rooms, and outdoor playground space.

A typical classroom day includes morning circle time; language enhancement activities; indoor gross motor play; snack time; designated time for fine motor, art, sensory, music, and cognitive activities; outdoor play; lunch time; a community walk; and good-bye circle time.
Through these play and learning activities with peer role models, as well as occupational, physical, and speech and language therapy, the Early Start staff guide children to develop fine motor, gross motor, self-help, cognitive, speech and language, and personal social skills – all supporting their developmental growth to reach key early childhood milestones.

Center-Based Support Services
Mommy and Me Classes
Supporting parents and caregivers in understanding their child’s disability and the range of activities and therapeutic interventions they can implement at home.
Family Support Services
A range of service components to further assist and support families as they work to help their children reach critical early childhood developmental milestones. These include parent support groups, parent education and training, one-on-one social work support, crisis counseling, marriage and family counseling, an on-site emergency food pantry, and a family resource center.
Medical Assessment and Access Services
Through screenings, a medical director identifies children in need of medical services and provides service coordination between families, physicians, therapists and other specialists to ensure access to needed treatments and therapies. Services are provided to families with children who are challenged with feeding issues, feeding tube management, behavioral problems, motor control and pulmonary, cardiovascular and neurological issues. The medical director works closely with families to help them understand their children’s complex medical conditions and supports them in developing advocacy skills to navigate medical services and systems.
